A Trusted Partner for the Fourth Industrial Revolution
In an era defined by rapid technological and economic disruption, our vision is clear—to be a leading law firm for companies at the forefront of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. We combine broad legal experience with cutting-edge technology to deliver faster, smarter, and more effective legal services to our clients.
Innovation isn’t just a buzzword, it’s a practice. We apply it thoughtfully and ethically, always anchored by our core commitment to client confidentiality, data security, and the professional obligations of our lawyers.
Innovation With Purpose
Our technology strategy is rooted in delivering real value to clients. Whether it’s saving time, improving outcomes, or unlocking insights, we leverage technology as a multiplier of our legal excellence. In executing this strategy, we are guided by the following ‘first principles’:
- Client collaboration and customization. We partner closely with our clients and communicate openly about our technology, finding tailored solutions that align with their specific goals.
- Expert-led solutions. We pair teams of legal experts with a robust suite of curated tools to deliver results that exceed what any technology tool could accomplish on its own.
- A holistic approach. We believe true innovation requires a thoughtful balance of talented people, efficient processes, and insightful data—not merely purchasing the latest tools.
- Embracing the future. We are committed to embracing, experimenting, and evolving alongside the best available technologies to serve our clients faster, smarter, and more-effectively.
Here are examples of technologies we’ve used and outcomes we’ve achieved:
Smart Technology, Thoughtfully Applied
We have a tradition of leveraging technology and process improvements to deliver excellent client service, and we are proud to be recognized as one of the “best of the best” law firms for our use of generative AI, as ranked by BTI Consulting based on independent surveys of legal decision-makers.
By integrating AI into our workflows, we’re streamlining routine tasks, supporting precision in legal writing, and freeing our professionals to focus on strategic, high-value work that ensures our clients benefit from both innovation and deep legal insight.
We use a suite of generative AI tools, including PC Chat—our secure, custom-developed AI assistant—and more than a dozen other market-leading platforms, plus many other complimentary technologies, to improve accuracy, speed, and value across a wide range of legal tasks, including:
- Research. Lawyers use generative AI tools grounded in statutes, case law, and other primary and secondary sources to answer legal questions, generate first-draft research memos, compare laws across jurisdictions, and locate more robust support than would otherwise be possible under time constraints.
- Drafting. We have domain-specific tools that help lawyers draft and refine legal documents, evaluate and analyze intellectual property, format citations, and enhance jurisdiction-specific compliance.
- Document review. Other AI solutions improve speed and accuracy in large-scale document review projects such as transactional due diligence and litigation discovery—helping us extract key data, flag risks, and identify material insights at a fraction of the cost and time it would take to achieve this manually.
- Diagramming. With state-of-the-art diagramming tools, we’ve automated the generation of complex patent family trees and prepared complex transaction step-charts and litigation timelines while reducing production time by 50%.
- Budgeting. We use AI tools to analyze timecard data and build smarter budgets and alternative fee arrangements.
Ethical Use of AI
We maintain a robust firmwide generative AI policy and standards that govern how lawyers and staff use these tools. We require educated, thoughtful use of our generative AI tools, and our AI governance team continuously evaluates emerging risks and opportunities. We prioritize:
- Client confidentiality
- Data security
- Lawyer competence and accountability
Document Automation: First Drafts in Minutes, Not Hours
We’ve automated the creation of key document sets, including:
- Startup formation documents
- Preferred stock financing forms based on the latest National Venture Capital Association model documents
By doing so, we save clients significant billable hours while maintaining the quality and consistency expected from our experienced counsel.
Drafting and Closing Management
We streamline transactions using a suite of drafting and closing tools:
- Closing management software allows us to accelerate closings, streamline the collection of signatures, and automatically generate polished closing sets at the time of closing—not days or weeks later.
- Specialized technologies integrated with Microsoft Word help our lawyers draft and review documents with precision using our internal precedents and playbooks. These tools also expedite final checks of citations, grammar, and formatting, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results without added expense.
Client Collaboration
We have custom solutions, such as PC Collaborate, that allow us to work alongside our clients and third parties by quickly and securely transmitting documents and data.
