Mason is a litigator focusing on complex commercial litigation.
Mason Ji represents clients in commercial disputes in federal and state courts across the country. Informed by his international relations background, he also advises clients on international trade matters, such as U.S. sanctions violations and issues involving the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
Clients rely on Mason for his practical guidance and proven experience in achieving favorable and efficient dispute resolutions. He routinely drafts pleadings and motion briefs while overseeing all aspects of discovery. Mason has successfully argued and won multiple dispositive motions and has a strong record of trial success, including a multiweek bench trial and several arbitrations. He recently led a multiday arbitration where his team won on all claims.
Mason is a bilingual English and Chinese speaker and a former English-Chinese translator. He utilizes his fluency in Chinese and understanding of Chinese culture to regularly advise clients on disputes, such as cross-border litigation.
Mason is a former delegate to the U.N. General Assembly, negotiating nuclear disarmament, climate change, and human rights treaties, and a former White House ambassador for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. While in law school, Mason was an executive editor for the Harvard International Law Journal.
