Jonathan Tietz

Jonathan I. Tietz focuses on appeals, dispositive or critical motions, and patent litigation.

Jonathan works on matters in the federal courts of appeals (including patent and international trade appeals), federal district courts (including Hatch-Waxman, patent, contract, and trade secret cases), and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). In addition, he has experience in various aspects of patent prosecution and counseling, and has worked with subject matter involving high-tech, chemical, biotechnological, mechanical, and pharmaceutical issues.

Jonathan maintains an active pro bono practice, assisting clients with appellate representation, veterans' benefits, and housing matters.

Before joining Perkins Coie, Jonathan clerked for the Honorable Sharon Prost of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Jonathan draws on his time as an appellate law clerk, writing and editing experience, and broad scientific background to inform legal writing, strategy, and tactics, especially at the interface of science and law.
