Yun (Louise) Lu

Louise serves as trusted counsel to leading technology companies on intellectual property (IP) matters related to dispute resolutions and IP licensing, prosecution, and acquisition.

Louise Lu focuses on patent litigation and invalidity proceedings, successfully litigating patent infringement cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission and federal district courts. She has substantial experience coordinating patent litigation and invalidity proceedings internationally, supervising patent prosecution in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and overseeing post-grant proceedings before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board, including both inter partes review and covered business method review proceedings. Many of these matters involve standard and essential patents or otherwise relate to standard setting. 

Since the start of her legal career in 2007, Louise has represented clients in Asia and the United States, from startups to large companies. She has a track record of securing early victories and other favorable outcomes in IP and commercial litigation involving breach of contract and unfair competition claims.  

Louise has litigated and counseled clients regarding patents in a range of technical areas, including wireless, encryption, video and audio compression, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, smartphone software functionalities, software design and testing, computer architecture and design, network systems, computer database programming, mechanics, and semiconductor devices and design. Prior to law school, she worked as a project coordinator in computer database and network system programming and design. 

Louise is dedicated to pro bono work and obtained a favorable ruling from a Social Security Administration administrative law judge reinstating benefits for a disabled veteran.
