Timothy Calica
- Los Angeles
Timothy Calica is an associate in our International Transactions & Trade practice.
He works with corporate clients in assessing visa eligibility, developing strategies, and implementing creative solutions that allow for their foreign national employee population to obtain work authorization within the United States. His practice involves advising employers on the development of internal immigration policies and protocols, as well as providing practical immigration practice strategies that align with business objectives.
He has experience preparing and filing both nonimmigrant (including B, E, H, J, L, O, and TN) and immigrant (including PERM-based applications, Schedule A cases, extraordinary ability cases, outstanding researcher cases, and multinational executive cases) visa petitions on behalf of client companies of varying sizes and industries. His experience also includes preparing adjustment of status applications, naturalization applications, responses to complex requests for evidence, responses to notices of intent to deny/revoke, and motions to reopen and reconsider. Timothy also possesses experience with Labor Condition Application (LCA) audits and I-9 compliance review.
Coming from a family of immigrants, Timothy gained interest in immigration law after having observed the complexities associated with the process. This interest led to his involvement in the Loyola Immigrant Justice Clinic while in law school, which provided him with the opportunity to provide humanitarian visa assistance to vulnerable immigrant populations.
