Taylor Jones

Taylor Jones focuses on energy and environmental issues related to regulatory, transactional, and project development matters.

Taylor helps clients navigate statutory and regulatory frameworks and provides counsel on California energy and climate policy. She has experience analyzing emerging issues in environmental law, identifying potential impacts, and developing recommendations for key strategy decisions.

Taylor augments her legal practice with significant experience in public policy. Prior to her legal career, Taylor served as an energy and environmental advisor in the Office of Governor Jerry Brown and policy manager in the Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz), advancing a variety of transportation, natural resources, and toxics priorities, and developing specific experience in zero-emission vehicle infrastructure. Taylor led drafting and implementation of the governor's Zero-Emission Vehicle Action Plan (ZEV Action Plan), coauthored the California Hydrogen Station Permitting Guidebook, and developed concepts for legislative, regulatory, and administrative initiatives to alleviate barriers in zero-emission vehicle adoption. Taylor brings an in-depth understanding of government processes and the extensive interagency coordination required to develop critical infrastructure for emerging technologies.

While earning her J.D. from the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, Taylor externed for the Hon. Kimberly J. Mueller of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California and clerked in the Environment Section of the Office of California Attorney General Xavier Becerra. In both roles, Taylor conducted extensive legal research and drafted precise analysis. Through her two-year tenure in the University of Southern California (USC) Gould Mediation Clinic, Taylor developed a broad range of skills in alternative dispute resolution, mediating 50+ cases in Los Angeles County Superior Court, as well as several state and federal employment matters.
