Discovery Attorney

Susan R. Estes

Susan Estes is a skilled and sought-after discovery attorney with the firm's E-Discovery Services & Strategy (ESS) practice group.

For nearly a decade, Susan has worked on "bet the company" litigation for multiple Fortune 100 companies. From U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) subpoenas, to multidistrict litigation, to international investigations, Susan is adept as managing changing priorities, identifying issues, and counseling her team to ensure accurate work product. Susan has performed first-level review, quality control, and privileged log on matters related to product liability, aviation investigations, environmental investigations, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), patent infringement, Hart-Scott-Rodino second requests, and Section 203 of the Communications Decency Act.

Susan has also been seconded to a client's legal department to manage custodian interviews, data collection, and organization. She worked with both outside vendors and the client's information technology (IT) department to comply with forensic processing and collection.

While serving clients, Susan also maintains the ESS social media presence on LinkedIn and Twitter, and counsels practice group members on how to enhance their social media presence. Through her marketing experience, Susan also works directly with a client's marketing department to review social media content, checking for compliance with internal rules, and external regulations.

Susan is active in the e-discovery community and is currently on the Chicago Board of Women in E-Discovery. In her spare time, Susan is an avid in-door gardener with more than 50 plants.
