Shannon McDermott

Shannon McDermott focuses her practice on employment litigation, investigations, and counseling.

Shannon regularly conducts internal investigations and advises clients on sensitive internal employment issues. She has assisted with numerous investigations affecting C-suite and other high-level employees, including claims of sexual harassment, discrimination, fraud, and ethics violations. Her experience includes interviewing witnesses, drafting investigation reports, and developing strategies to mitigate risk.

Shannon has defended employers in various employment litigation matters, including class action lawsuits, multidistrict litigation, wage-and-hour disputes, and cases involving alleged claims of discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation, trade secret infringement, and executive misconduct. Her litigation experience includes drafting motions in state and federal court, taking and defending depositions, and handling discovery. Shannon has also drafted and reviewed employee handbooks, non-competes, and separation agreements.

Shannon was a law clerk for the Hon. Paul G. Byron in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. While working on her J.D. at Vanderbilt Law School, she was a managing editor for the Vanderbilt Law Review.
