Before joining Perkins Coie, Sara served as director of public interest programs in the Career Development Office at UC, Berkeley, School of Law, where she advised law students pursuing careers in public interest law.
During her time practicing as a public-interest lawyer, Sara spent nearly 15 years as the managing lawyer at the AIDS Legal Referral Panel, a nonprofit organization serving people living with HIV/AIDS in the Bay Area. Sara also served nine years on the Board of Trustees at Head-Royce School in Oakland, California, and was the former president of the board of directors for the Eviction Defense Collaborative in San Francisco. She currently serves on the Equality California Institute Board.
