Nancy Cheng

Experienced patent litigator Nancy has practiced in courts across the United States and internationally. 

Nancy Cheng has served as a core member of multiple successful patent litigation teams. Her work has secured victories for leading technology companies at various stages of dispute resolution: motion to dismiss, post Markman hearing, trial, and appeals. She has litigated patents in numerous fields, including semiconductor fabrication, network security, 3D memory, graphics, video encoding/decoding, and WiFi.  

Nancy’s experience in patent infringement cases encompasses e-discovery, invalidity and non-infringement defenses, expert witness depositions, Markman, and summary judgment. She has practiced before the U.S. district courts for the Northern District of California, the District of Delaware, and the Eastern District of Texas, as well as the U.S. International Trade Commission. Nancy has also appeared before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board to represent clients in inter partes reviews.

Nancy also has experience with patent litigation in China, including civil lawsuits filed in the Beijing Intellectual Property Court and the Beijing Higher People's Court and invalidation petitions filed with China’s Patent Review Board.  

Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Nancy worked as an engineer for Intel Corporation for more than 13 years and has hands-on industrial experience with designing/validating microprocessors, network processors, and consumer electronics.
