Madison Aufai

Madi Aufai is a Seattle-based patent agent, whose background in preparing and prosecuting patents spans the United States and beyond.
She has processed patent applications for clients with innovations across a variety of scientific industries, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, clinical development, polymer chemistry, and oil and gas. She has extensive knowledge of both freedom to operate analysis and patentability analysis. Madi also has experience with material transfer and joint research agreements, startup portfolio management, and provisional application drafting. She works closely with clients through the patenting process and collaborates with both local and international associates.
Prior to her work as a patent agent, Madi received her Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry from the University of Washington in Seattle. She gained experience in the fields of synthetic and physical organic chemistry through her work developing novel catalytic reactions for the synthesis of complex molecules and new structural motifs from readily available starting materials.
