Junkun Zheng
Lawrence Zheng is an associate with the Intellectual Property (IP) practice in Perkins Coie's Beijing office.
His practice is primarily focused on litigation and enforcement projects involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and unfair competition. During his tenure at a local law firm in China, Lawrence developed a strong background in litigation. Several of the cases he litigated have been selected as exemplar cases by the relevant People's Courts.
Lawrence has significant experience in managing complex intellectual property litigations. The cases he handles span multiple jurisdictions in China and have involved a variety of technical fields, including telecommunications, mechanical devices, pharmaceuticals, and chemistry. He also has extensive knowledge in issues involving standard essential patents (SEP) and fair, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory (FRAND) licensing.
Lawrence manages anticounterfeiting and antipiracy projects for U.S. and European multinational companies, and he has specific experience with administrative enforcement, criminal enforcement, and customs seizures in China. Additionally, Lawrence assists China-based clients in litigation in the United States involving patents, copyrights, trademarks, and unfair competition.
Lawrence earned a B.S. from Nankai University's School of Life Science and a J.M. from Peking University's School of Law. Before joining Perkins Coie, Lawrence worked as a litigator at a local boutique IP law firm for four years.
