Jonathan P. Goddard

Jon is a litigator who represents clients in their most complex and time-sensitive disputes.

Jonathan Goddard helps clients efficiently resolve matters to avoid litigation. His work emphasizes contract disputes, construction and development law, and contract drafting and negotiations. Jon also performs investigations to identify, mitigate, and resolve issues and provides course-of-construction counseling and mediation. When litigation is unavoidable, Jon helps streamline the process— from creating cost-effective discovery solutions to writing case-ending motions—and contributes to case-winning trial teams. He has tried cases before juries and in arbitration.

Jon also drafts and negotiates construction agreements for contractors and owners across the United States, particularly on the West Coast. His project experience includes office, mixed-use, retail, manufacturing, and residential buildings (including luxury homes and apartments), as well as tenant improvements.

Prior to law school, Jon was a middle school math teacher with Teach for America in New York City and an International Baccalaureate (IB) math teacher in Jakarta, Indonesia. He remains committed to championing educational causes and maintains an active pro bono practice.
