John Butler
- ESS Analyst Supervisor
John Butler serves as the manager for the E-Discovery Analysts within the firm's E-Discovery Services & Strategy (ESS) practice. The E-Discovery analyst team, led by John, is responsible for key functions at various phases of discovery.
This includes building document review databases, processing and loading data, imaging documents, running document productions, performing robust quality control workflows, applying analytics, and creating trial exhibits. John provides technical knowledge and solutions to clients, lawyers, paralegals, and business professionals. He also assists in designing custom document review, case analysis, and transcript management databases for individual matters.
John has extensive experience processing and converting various types of sensitive data for loading into databases. He has consulted on source code reviews while protecting critical metadata and privacy. Additionally, John plays a significant role in evaluating and implementing new technology solutions. He was instrumental in onboarding RelativityOne within the firm and applying Message Crawler to convert mobile and chat data to short message format. John excels at designing efficient e-discovery workflows that leverage automation while ensuring high levels of quality.
With more than 17 years of experience in e-discovery, John has held positions as a data services technician, supervisor of data services, and ESS senior analyst prior to his current role. He is a Relativity certified administrator and holds certifications as an analytics specialist and processing specialist. John also has experience with numerous e-discovery tools including DISCO, eCapture by IPRO, Case Notebook, Message Crawler, and ReadySuite.
