Dan Austin counsels high-growth companies from inception through exit, advising them on an array of business and transactional matters, including venture capital financings, strategic partnerships, M&A, and corporate governance. His experience spans a range of emerging industries, including AI, biotech, cybersecurity, defense and dual-use tech, energy and clean tech, fintech, retail, unmanned systems, and other deep technologies.
Prior to joining Perkins Coie, Dan gained firsthand startup experience as in-house counsel and executive team member for a venture capital-backed company.
Dan is a decorated U.S. Army veteran who served as a field artillery officer, attaining the rank of captain.
