Carrie Hobbs draws on a deep foundation in federal tax law and litigation to advise clients and deliver sophisticated counsel across a broad spectrum of trust and estate planning and administration services. She also regularly works with tax-exempt organizations, providing strategic guidance on compliance, governance, and charitable giving. Carrie is skilled at analyzing complex tax issues, navigating intricate legal challenges, and developing tailored solutions to meet each client’s objectives.
Carrie has significant experience working with regulators, including conducting internal investigations in response to government inquiries. Before focusing on tax and estate matters, she represented clients in state and federal courts on a range of litigation matters. Her experience includes extensive courtroom advocacy, taking and defending depositions, and leading settlement negotiations and mediations. She also served as a deputy district attorney, managing a high-volume criminal docket and gaining substantial courtroom experience.
Carrie’s commitment to pro bono service has been a hallmark of her career. She has represented asylum seekers and survivors of domestic violence, including serving as counsel in a high-stakes, three-week bench trial. In addition, Carrie is dedicated to mentoring junior lawyers and supporting lawyer development initiatives.
