Adrienne Shin Ehrhardt is a seasoned privacy and technology transactions lawyer who draws on her broad experience counseling clients in a wide range of industries. She advises clients on complicated privacy and security, legal and regulatory matters, and negotiates and guides clients through complex commercial transactions. Through her work, she has developed deep experience with issues relating to U.S. state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as privacy programs and cybersecurity issues. Adrienne has drafted and negotiated numerous complicated technology and SaaS agreements relating to financial technologies, NFTs, artificial intelligence, e-commerce, electronic vehicles, and educational technologies. She has also guided clients on building privacy compliance frameworks and counseled on developing products and services to comply with applicable privacy and security laws.
Adrienne's advice to clients includes strategic and legal guidance on issues relating to payment processing, including electronic, debit, and credit card payments, ACH authorizations, and Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance. She also manages client data breach response, including advising on public relations strategies and notifying affected individuals and regulators.
Prior to returning to private practice, Adrienne served as the in-house lead lawyer in privacy and data protection at CUNA Mutual Group, where she focused on all aspects of privacy and data management, including the company's master data management, creation of its consumer data warehouse, and management of the privacy program. She also managed data breach response and laws compliance, and issues relating to GLBA, FCRA, TCPA, and unfair business practices.
Adrienne also served as associate general counsel at Land's End, Inc., where she managed litigation, counseled the company on internal legal matters, and negotiated and drafted a variety of transactional agreements.
A noted thought leader, Adrienne has spoken on topics relating to methods and practices for managing and sharing data across various business lines and affiliates. Adrienne was a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where she instructed students in a first-year legal research and writing course.
