Aaron Haberman is experienced in defending companies in government investigations and advising them regarding compliance with state and federal laws including the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) Act, the Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing (CAN-SPAM) Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Aaron has also led the data breach response and consumer and regulator notification process and overseen the creation and revision of privacy and incident response policies.
Aaron is a former staff attorney in the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, where he led an investigation resulting in a $150 million settlement and industry bans for a company and key actors including its CEO. He has significant experience in all stages of government investigations—including drafting and/or responding to civil investigative demands, white papers, complaints, and orders—across an array of subject matters, including privacy, data security, advertising, and scientific substantiation.
