Perkins Coie’s Shannon Bloodworth Named a Law360 MVP of the Year in Intellectual Property
SEATTLE and WASHINGTON, D.C. (November 19, 2019) - Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Shannon Bloodworth, partner and co-chair of the firm's Intellectual Property practice, has been recognized by Law360 as an MVP of the Year for her counsel and work in intellectual property litigation.
Law360's annual MVP awards recognize those attorneys who have set themselves apart from their peers by achieving hard-fought victories in litigation, global matters and record-breaking deals. This is the second time in four years that Shannon has received the MVP accolade.
Shannon focuses her practice on representing pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients in complex patent litigation in numerous district courts, as well as before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). Contributing to her MVP for 2019 was a favorable outcome for Mylan Pharmaceuticals in a high-profile litigation case that Law360 named one of the "Biggest Patent Cases of 2018."
In Yeda Research & Development Co. v. Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc., Shannon and the Perkins Coie team successfully concluded Mylan's high-stakes and long-running patent battle against Teva when the Federal Circuit affirmed separate decisions by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Delaware and PTAB that all four patents covering Teva's drug Copaxone® were invalid. Additional victories include invalidating all claims of the patent covering Janssen's Zytiga®, a $2.4 billion blockbuster drug for the treatment of prostate cancer, and reversing on appeal the District of New Jersey's incorrect finding that patents covering Vimovo®were valid in Nuvo Pharmaceuticals (Ireland) Designated Activity Co. v. Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Inc.
