Perkins Coie Partners and Practice Groups Ranked in the 2025 Chambers Global Guide

SEATTLE and LONDON, (February 20, 2025)—Perkins Coie is proud to announce that 13 partners and nine practice areas have been ranked by Chambers and Partners, publishers of the 2025 Chambers Global Guide, for exceptional work in the United States, Europe, and Asian offices. The ranking represents an increase from 2024, when 11 partners and five practices were recognized. 

The following 13 partners were recognized by Chambers and Partners:  

Jan Andruško, firmwide head of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Europe, and a partner with the Corporate practice, has led landmark domestic deals and cross-border transactions throughout Central and Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on the technology, media, and telecommunications industries.  

Veronica Ascarrunz, a partner in the Intellectual Property practice and co-chair of the firm's ITC Litigation group, was named for her litigation of complex Section 337 investigations at the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC). She has secured successful outcomes for dozens of clients in Section 337 ITC investigations at all stages, from early resolution through trial and appeal. Veronica is a recent past president of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association. 

Robin Brewer, a partner in the Intellectual Property practice and a member of the firm's ITC Litigation group, represents technology companies in patent litigation before the federal courts, the ITC, and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Robin's broad engineering background informs her counseling of clients in all areas of technology, and she has won favorable legal victories for key technology clients on critical issues before the ITC—victories that have become regularly cited precedent.  

Miranda Cole, European Union (EU) and United Kingdom Antitrust Practice Lead, advises companies on transactional and behavioral matters and merger control; foreign direct investment and foreign subsidies reviews of mergers, acquisitions; abuse of dominance and anticompetitive agreements under Articles 101 and 102 TFEU and Chapters 1 and 2 of the U.K. Competition Act; technology transactions; digital regulation, including the EU Digital Markets Act and AI Act and the U.K. Digital Markets, Competition and Consumer Act. 

Eric B. Fjelstad* leads the firm’s Alaska environmental and resources representations. Eric represents clients in oil and gas, mining, project development, litigation, and strategic counseling for municipal and industrial projects. In his project development work, Eric handles due diligence, commercial arrangements for exploration, development and production, and permitting. 

Markus Funk, a partner in the White Collar & Investigations practice, was recognized for his focus on internal investigations, complex commercial litigation at both the trial and appellate levels, white-collar criminal defense, corporate social responsibility and supply chain compliance, and corporate counseling. 

Meredith Halama, co-chair of the Privacy & Security practice and chair of the Ad Tech Group, was recognized for counseling clients on the full spectrum of consumer privacy issues, with a particular emphasis on targeted advertising, mobile advertising, data monetization, and related business practices.  

Janis Kestenbaum, a partner in the Privacy & Security practice, was recognized for her successful track record representing both major corporations and startups in investigations by the Federal Trade Commission, state attorneys general, and foreign data protection authorities.  

Jane Rueger, firmwide chair for the Energy Infrastructure & Clean Technology industry group, was recognized for her regulatory and litigation work in the electricity field, her management of Federal Energy Regulatory Commission litigation matters, and her representation of power sector clients as part of her wider energy practice. 

Stefani Shanberg, a partner in the Intellectual Property practice and member of the firm's ITC Litigation group, represents clients in IP cases before the federal courts and the ITC. Stefani has been recognized as a go-to advisor for fast-growing technology companies and has particular experience with investigations before the ITC. As the only West Coast–based past president of the ITC Trial Lawyers Association, Stefani has a deep understanding of the priorities of technology companies facing ITC litigation. 

Jim Snell, managing partner of the firm's Palo Alto office and a Privacy Litigation partner who has guided companies through privacy, IP, and complex commercial disputes for decades, was recognized as a leader in international privacy and data security litigation.  

Jan Stejskal, a partner in the Corporate and M&A practices, has transactional experience including corporate fundraisings, joint ventures, acquisitions, and private equity investments. Jan has represented clients in technology, telecommunications, energy, manufacturing, real estate, and financial services. 

Michael Wise, chair of the firm's Life Sciences & Healthcare industry group and a partner in the Intellectual Property practice, was recognized for his IP work, including patent portfolio management and complex contested patent matters in the life sciences industry. Michael was also recognized for his "Foreign Expertise in China" and "Expertise Based Abroad in China" in the rankings.
