Perkins Coie Continues New York Market Growth With Capital Markets Partner Elliott Smith and Counsel Sarah Ross

NEW YORK (March 4, 2025)—Perkins Coie is pleased to announce that Elliott Smith and Sarah Ross have joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice as a partner and counsel, respectively, in the New York office. Their additions further strengthen the firm’s public company and capital markets presence and capabilities in the world’s leading financial market.  

Elliott and Sarah bring significant experience advising on complex corporate and securities matters for public companies, private companies seeking to go public, and underwriters and investors in equity capital markets transactions. Elliott and Sarah have managed a wide array of public and private capital-raising transactions, including initial and follow-on public offerings, shelf takedowns, convertible notes offerings, confidentially marketed public offerings, at-the-market offerings and private investments in public equity. Elliott and Sarah also counsel clients across the financial services, technology, healthcare, renewable energy, and construction industries on corporate governance and securities compliance.

Elliott also has an active special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) practice, representing SPACs and sponsor teams, underwriters, and private companies going public through SPAC transactions.

Elliott and Sarah join from White & Case, where they were members of the firm's capital markets practice. Elliott earned his B.A. from San Francisco State University and his J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Sarah earned her B.S. from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business and her J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law.  

Elliott and Sarah’s arrival furthers the firm’s capabilities in New York following the additions of Jacquie Duval, firmwide chair of the Private Capital & Fund Formation practice, and Kerry Potter McCormick, a partner in the Corporate and Financial Regulation practice.
