Partner Lee Richards Elected a 2024 Fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel
NEW YORK (October 8, 2024)—Perkins Coie is pleased to congratulate Lee Richards III, a white-collar partner based in the firm’s New York office, on his election as a 2024 fellow to the American College of Governance Counsel, an elite group of leading lawyers and academics with deep experience in corporate governance.
Lee is a highly respected white collar and investigations lawyer with extensive experience advising public companies, investment banks, and hedge funds among other sophisticated clients. He served as the receiver in the government’s prosecution of Bernard Madoff’s multi-billion investment fraud and is a former Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.
He is one of just 21 lawyers from across the United States and Canada to be admitted to the American College of Governance Counsel for 2024. Fellows are selected for a proven high level of professionalism and a commitment to advancing best governance through a combination of their legal practice and thought leadership activities.
Lee also has experience representing investment banks, hedge funds, public companies, investment advisers, corporate officers and directors, and other professionals in investigations and proceedings. Earlier in his career, he also served as special compliance counsel, receiver, and trustee for the Securities and Exchange Commission in the liquidation of five securities firms, as well as three major insider trading cases.
