Perkins Coie Mentioned in Law360—PTAB Cuts Sisvel Wireless Patent, Trims 2 Others
Perkins Coie was mentioned in the Law360* article, "PTAB Cuts Sisvel Wireless Patent, Trims 2 Others," regarding the firm's representation in a recent patent litigation win before the U.S. Patent Trial and Appeal Board (USPTO).
The Patent Trial and Appeal Board has dealt blows to several claims in three patents owned by European patent-licensing company Sisvel, wiping out one of them and trimming claims in the other two following a challenge by a collection of tech and telecom companies that Sisvel had sued.
In a trio of decisions that came down Tuesday, the patent board agreed with some of the arguments put forward by Dell, ZTE Corp., Sierra Wireless Inc. and other companies that Sisvel International SA sued two years ago in Delaware federal court over claims that its patents covered technology essential to 3G and 4G LTE wireless standards that the companies didn't want to pay to use.
