SeekOut: AI Recruiting and the NYC Hiring Law Taking Effect in 2023
Cyrus Ansari of the Perkins Coie Technology Transactions and Privacy group are joined by Sam Shaddox, Vice President of Legal for SeekOut, an HR Tech startup based in Bellevue, WA, to discuss the use of artificial intelligence to recruit and retain talent and the landmark NYC Local Law 144 regulating AI and automated employment decision tools to evaluate job candidates or employees when making employment decisions.
This podcast was recorded before New York City adopted final rules for Local Law 144 on April 6, 2023. Enforcement of the law is scheduled to begin on July 5, 2023.
