The U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas: The Next Patent Battleground for Chinese Businesses in the U.S.

Pillars of a courthouse

There are over 90 U.S. district courts in the United States, but in 2020 more than 70% of the patent lawsuits have been filed in just seven of these district courts.

During the last year, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas has become the most popular court for patent infringement lawsuits. It is important for Chinese companies doing business in the United States to understand this court and how it operates. Perkins Coie partners Matt Bernstein and Kevin Patariu explained court procedures in the Western District of Texas and will provide strategies for Chinese companies to defend patent infringement lawsuits and to initiate patent infringement lawsuits in the district.

Translation into Mandarin Chinese was provided.
