Another Voice: New York’s Food Safety Net Needs Strengthening

Families in New York are still struggling to secure adequate food during the pandemic. The unemployment rate statewide this February was 8.9%, more than double the rate a year ago.

In New York City, the unemployment rate in February was 12.9%, more than triple the rate before the pandemic.
