Valeria Bystrowicz-Liendo advises emerging growth and established technology companies in the United States and Latin America, with a particular emphasis on blockchain/distributed ledger technology (DLT).
As part of the Blockchain, Digital Assets & Custody industry group, Valeria has been at the forefront of the legal and regulatory frameworks related to virtual currency and blockchain. She has represented clients in launching commercial platforms powered by blockchain tokens and counseled teams through their initial coin offerings (ICOs) process by offering regulatory guidance and corporate advice in engineering domestic and international corporate structures.
Experienced in working with companies throughout their lifecycles, from formation to venture financings and M&A, Valeria provides guidance on such corporate governance issues as employment compensation, fundraising strategy, data security, privacy, intellectual property issues and regulatory compliance.
Valeria successfully manages venture capital firms and investment bank accounts in private and public financings, as well as U.S. clients in complex cross-border transactions, corporate reorganizations and joint ventures. She has set up a wide range of legal and fiduciary structures for U.S. investments in Latin America.
A native of Argentina who received her LL.M. degree from New York University School of Law, Valeria previously was an associate in a national law firm's Menlo Park office, where she served as counsel to both companies and investors in venture capital financings. Valeria also directed investor relations at a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, where she assisted in the selection of Latin American companies seeking to expand into the United States.
