Jon R. Carter
Jon has extensive experience litigating intellectual property (IP) disputes in various forums around the United States.
Jon Carter represents both emerging and established companies in IP disputes in U.S. district courts, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC), and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. This includes investigations in the ITC and post-grant proceedings such as inter partes review, ex parte reexamination, and post-grant review.
Jon works on matters relating to a wide range of technologies, including wireless communications, computer architecture and software design, semiconductor design and fabrication, e-commerce, medical devices, and pharmaceuticals. He also regularly advises clients on strategic issues related to the development, composition, and use of their IP portfolios.
Prior to attending law school, Jon worked for IBM as a processor design and verification engineer in both Austin, Texas and Raleigh, North Carolina. Active in his community, Jon currently serves on the boards of the American Friends of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the American Symphony Orchestra.
