Overview

Heather advises clients through every stage of their construction projects, starting at the development of construction contracts to project closeout and dispute resolution.

Heather Heindel served the construction industry as an engineer with an international engineering firm before pivoting to construction law. She works on construction projects from conception through closeout, including developing and negotiating complex contracts, overseeing and advising on legal issues during construction, developing and responding to claims, and resolving construction disputes. Heather prepares and negotiates construction, operations, and maintenance contracts. She also successfully represents clients in mediation, arbitration, litigation, and matters before dispute review boards, including developing electronic discovery strategies and managing multimillion document electronic discovery efforts.

Heather is a thoughtful and strategic leader who often serves as go-to outside counsel. Her 25 years' experience as an engineer and construction lawyer makes her effective in helping superintendents, project managers, and company executives resolve construction disputes. She advises on projects throughout the United States, Canada, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Japan, China, and South Korea.

Heather's pro bono work includes formalizing caregiver relationships through nonparental custody proceedings, assisting veterans, and representing victims of labor-trafficking. She is a licensed engineer in Georgia.
