Caitlin Hoeberlein
Caitlin Hoeberlein represents both early- and late-stage emerging companies and venture capital (VC) funds investing in high-growth, privately held companies.
Her experience includes a wide range of corporate and transactional matters, including corporate governance, equity and debt financings, entity formation, and commercial agreements.
As an associate in the Advertising, Marketing, and Promotions group, Caitlin counseled and defended businesses—from startups to Fortune 500 companies—in the retail, entertainment, gaming, software, internet, food and beverage, and advertising industries. She advised clients on marketing, advertising, brand and consumer protection, and regulatory compliance issues, as well as intellectual property (IP) matters with a focus on content licensing, sponsorship, confidentiality and nondisclosure, art commissions, and rights of publicity.
In addition to her business and advertising counseling practices, Caitlin has counseled and defended clients on matters related to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and related state laws. She also helped clients resolve disputes involving IP-related issues.
Caitlin maintains an active pro bono practice focused on upholding constitutional rights and providing relief for people involved in the criminal justice system. She was, for example, part of a legal team that secured the release of a juvenile offender after 20 years in prison.
Caitlin graduated from Harvard Law School, where she served as co-editor-in-chief of the Harvard International Law Journal and president of the HLS Negotiators. During law school, Caitlin interned at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Chief Judge F. Dennis Saylor IV of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Before her legal career, Caitlin earned her Certified Public Accountant license and a Certificate of Accounting from the University of Washington.
