Bryce Herman
Bryce Herman focuses his practice on technology transactions and privacy law.
He regularly counsels clients on issues related to intellectual property (IP), commercial transactions, privacy, product counseling, the Internet of Things (IoT), open source software, and media-related content clearance.
Bryce helps clients launch products and websites and structure, draft, and negotiate commercial transactions related to IP rights, licensing, services, and supply. He has experience counseling clients on risk mitigation associated with using and tracking open-source software in proprietary solutions and during mergers and acquisitions (M&A) diligence. Bryce has worked with gaming companies to negotiate external content licensing agreements, and has developed robust knowledge reviewing and assessing risks associated with the introduction of original and licensed content to games already played by millions of individuals. Bryce also provides product counseling for emerging e-commerce platforms related to product and service launch and distribution.
Bryce works with clients ranging from startups to large public companies in a variety of industries, including hardware, software, standard bodies, digital media, internet, E-commerce and gaming. His privacy and data security experience includes helping businesses draft data security addenda to help protect their data and ensure compliance with various state and federal privacy laws.
Bryce also maintains an active pro bono practice, preparing U visa applications on behalf of domestic violence victims seeking documented status.
Prior to law school, Bryce was a senior account manager for SecureDocs in Santa Barbara, California.
