Britt L. Anderson
Britt develops intellectual property brand protection and enforcement strategies for global public companies, established startups, and U.S. market entrants offering disruptive new products.
Deeply interested in supporting his clients’ long-term business objectives, Britt Anderson’s intellectual property (IP) litigation experience encompasses a wide set of industry sectors. His worldwide brand-protection programs have included programmatic policing of e-commerce and social media sites, cybersquatting and domain name enforcement, anti-counterfeiting programs, and grey market distribution issues.
For more than two decades, Britt has advocated for his clients in trademark, copyright, and domain name cases in federal courts throughout the United States and enforced his clients’ brand-related IP rights in numerous international jurisdictions. These cases are often at the forefront of IP law and have addressed such issues as trademark and copyright infringement triggered by online and offline activities, anonymous infringers, distribution of mobile content, rights of publicity, and online advertising issues.
Britt’s advocacy has been supported by his long-term relationships with his clients, often spanning many years. He has helped clients successfully build brand-related IP rights through strategic advice in such areas as trade dress protection; three-dimensional and other non-traditional trademarks; copyright protection for software and visual works; and the licensing, sale, and acquisition of significant trademark rights.
Prior to his private practice, Britt directed and held profit and loss responsibility for the international division of a prominent U.S. logistics company.
Britt is a leader in the International Trademark Association (INTA), where he currently is an active member of the Emerging Issues Committee. He previously served in various roles with the Trademark Office Practices and Government Official’s Training Committees from 2016 to 2024, during which he provided in support of INTA’s industry training program efforts for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office trademark examination corps.
