A seasoned litigator and e-discovery lawyer, Geoffrey is a leader within the firm and his community.
Geoffrey A. Vance leads a team of lawyers and litigation support professionals who use state-of-the-art technologies and strategies to improve client outcomes and reduce costs and risks associated with the firm's legal services.
An active member of the Sedona Conference's Working Group 1 on Electronic Document Retention and Production, Geoffrey has experience managing complex, high-volume discovery projects. He has co-authored and updated the Discovery chapter of the Federal Civil Practice handbook, published by the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, since 2006.
In addition to his leadership roles, Geoffrey has tried more than 20 litigation matters to conclusion. These include food and consumer product liability cases around the country as well as high-profile trust and estate controversy matters in jurisdictions worldwide. He was national litigation counsel for a global provider of electric power system equipment and services and was national multidistrict litigation counsel for one of the world's largest food service companies.
Geoffrey is a U.S. Navy veteran whose record includes active service in the First Gulf War. He is currently on the board of directors of the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago, was the founding chair of the board of directors of Autism Speaks' Chicagoland chapter, and is the former president of the Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation.
