Adrienne Paterson
- Washington, D.C.
Adrienne helps clients navigate traditional labor and employment issues.
Adrienne Paterson represents employers in state and federal courts in matters involving discrimination, wrongful termination, breach of fiduciary duty, trade secrets, and restrictive covenants.
Adrienne routinely helps employers, from major manufacturers and tech companies to small retailers, develop labor relations strategies and respond to union-organizing efforts and unfair labor practice charges. She advises on compliance with the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) and helps clients navigate National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) charges, including drafting position statements, developing trainings for managers and other stakeholders, and coordinating media.
In her employment practice, she advises employers in all aspects of the employment relationship, including hiring, discipline, termination, employee handbooks and policies, whistleblower claims, and compliance with discrimination statues and leave laws. Recently, Adrienne has provided advice and presented on employers' response to the COVID-19 pandemic and best practices for returning to work.
As part of her pro bono practice, Adrienne has helped a nonprofit supporting the arts with a workplace investigation and staff a local legal aid society's pro bono hotline, helping to triage cases around family law and other legal issues.
