For more than 25 years, Troy has helped clients in a range of industries with sophisticated transactions.
Troy Hickman advises clients in a range of matters encompassing acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, fund creations and investments, family office representation, commercial contracts, entity formation, and financing and governance matters. He works in numerous industries, with particular experience in aerospace and defense. Notably, Troy recently represented a family-owned business in a $1.7B sale to a publicly traded aerospace company.
Troy works with clients on complex joint ventures, funds, and operating partnerships to accurately reflect the nuances of each transaction. He regularly assists family-owned businesses and family offices and is familiar with the unique challenges associated with multigenerational involvement and succession planning. Troy is familiar with the additional considerations that pass-through tax entities, such as S corporations, LLCs, and limited partnerships, bring to transactions. While some of his matters, such as restructuring professional sports franchises and joint ventures on behalf of the University of Washington, are high-profile, most of his work involves helping the owners of closely held and family-owned businesses achieve their goals.
