Print bio

Sherilyn represents clients nationwide in trial and appellate litigation in federal and state court cases involving product liability, tort, administrative challenges, intellectual property, and contract disputes.

Sherilyn Peterson has a strong interest in serving the bar's pro bono needs. Her representation of death row inmates challenging Washington state's execution protocol forced the state to change its method of execution and earned her recognition as the first civil litigator to receive the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers' President's Award.

Sherilyn has represented pro bono clients in a wide variety of litigation, including vindicating the rights of unhoused individuals and criminal defendants and seeking protection for individuals from deportation. In addition to her extensive pro bono work, Sherilyn is an arbitrator for King County's Mandatory Arbitration Program. She has also served as an instructor for The National Institute of Trial Advocacy.
