Nancy Cruz

Nancy Cruz advises clients on state and federal regulatory compliance and permitting matters in the energy sector.

She also assists clients with the transactional aspects of purchasing and developing renewable energy projects. Additionally, Nancy advises clients on environmental regulatory and compliance matters; her experience includes analyzing issues under the Clean Air Act (CAA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).

Nancy is bilingual in Spanish and volunteers with community organizations whose missions are to support and protect immigrant communities in Wisconsin. She is committed to maintaining an active pro bono practice. Nancy previously represented a criminal defendant and an indigent petitioner in a civil suit on appeal, appearing before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

While earning her J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School, Nancy served as the president of the Moot Court Board and co-president of the Latinx Law Student Association. Nancy was a clinical student with the Immigrant Justice Clinic, where she represented asylum applicants and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients.
