Mylan Traylor
Mylan Traylor defends clients in class-action litigation involving a range of privacy and cybersecurity issues.
Mylan defends clients in complex class-action cases arising under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA). He has litigated several significant BIPA matters in state and federal courts across the country, helping clients achieve notable victories and favorable settlements. Mylan also litigates individual and class-action cases arising under other privacy and data security laws, such as the Video Privacy and Protection Act (VPPA).
Mylan has drafted winning dispositive motions, discovery and procedural motions, complaints, and third-party subpoenas in state and federal court. He also takes depositions in complex cases and has significant electronic and written discovery experience.
Outside the litigation context, Mylan advises clients in a wide variety of industries on key strategic issues. These include helping clients understand and comply with laws governing biometric privacy; laws governing consumer privacy, such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); and laws governing data security.
During law school at the University of Michigan, Mylan served as academic and career chair for the Black Law Students Association (BLSA) and was a student lawyer in the university's Transactional Lab & Clinic.
