Julien Bowers represents clients in structuring and negotiating agreements related to technology, data, and intellectual property (IP). He advises clients on a range of strategic technology transactions, including those related to the deployment and implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and systems, helping companies navigate the intricate legal landscape surrounding AI innovation.  

Drawing on his experience as the former lead technology and outsourcing counsel at a Fortune 50 company, Julien brings to his practice a deep understanding of the importance of balancing the need to mitigate legal risks while meeting the business imperative of getting deals done quickly. He has played a pivotal role in supporting some of the nation’s largest corporations with company-wide digital transformation initiatives, including transactions involving joint ventures, strategic collaborations, and other high-stakes partnerships.

Julien’s practice encompasses the drafting and negotiation of a wide range of agreements for both established industry leaders and emerging growth companies, including SaaS agreements, OEM agreements, professional services agreements, collaboration and development agreements, resale and distribution agreements, and manufacturing and supply agreements. A key part of his practice involves advising companies on matters involving the development and use of innovative AI systems, models, and datasets, including generative AI technologies.  

In addition to his technology transactions expertise, Julien guides clients in structuring and negotiating enterprise outsourcing, realignment, and optimization transactions, including those related to business processes such as IT and HR functions. He has advised clients on the sourcing and procurement of IT, HR, facilities management, logistics, and supply chain systems, with extensive experience in strategic transactions involving third-party logistics providers. 

Julien also advises clients on navigating the IP aspects of mergers and acquisitions, where he guides clients through the complexities of IP due diligence, contract negotiations, and post-acquisition integration.
