Jesús Castillón focuses his practice on technology transactions, information technology outsourcing, software licensing and commercial sourcing across a wide variety of industries. He advises, structures and negotiates on behalf of customers and vendors in a variety of technology-related transactions with a focus on IT procurement services, software, data and content licensing, cloud computing and software as a service, managed services and outsourcing implementation transactions. Jesús also counsels clients on data security, data use and privacy related issues.
As part of his practice, Jesús has been embedded within the legal department of one of the world’s largest oilfield services providers for temporary periods to cover special projects as in-house counsel giving him a unique perspective on the critical issues and internal pressures facing clients.
Active in both his professional and personal communities, Jesús is a current member (and former co-chair) of the Steering Committee of the Texas Minority Counsel Program, an affiliate of the State Bar of Texas with the mission of increasing opportunities for minority and women attorneys in Texas. He also chairs the Dallas office’s Diversity Committee and co-chairs the firm’s LGBTQ+ Resource Group.
