Chris represents national and regional clients through all phases of real estate transactions.
In his real estate and land use practice, Chris Kang advises national and regional clients in all aspects of real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisitions and dispositions, and development. Chris' work in commercial real estate, includes retail, office, multifamily, mixed-use, industrial and warehouse, and renewable energy projects.
For real estate transactions, Chris' work includes drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements; reviewing title, zoning, and other due diligence items; drafting addendums, waivers, and affidavits; managing closing documents; and assisting with closings. He also represents major landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating commercial leases. He has spearheaded lease negotiations for clients ranging from major shopping centers, Class A office buildings, warehouse and distribution centers, and corporate headquarters for companies such as Puget Sound Energy, Coinstar, Ionna, and Perkins Coie LLP. Additionally, Chris has experience with land use matters that includes drafting and negotiating renewable energy leases, easements, and related project documents, along with managing due diligence reviews for major development projects.
In his business transaction work, Chris represents clients involved in asset sales, stock sales and mergers, licensing agreements, service agreements, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, and other commercial matters. As business counsel, Chris guided a stock sale and merger of sports agencies, an asset sale of an electronic waste company, and the purchase and sale of various businesses.
Chris is the co-author of the Washington State Bar Association's Real Property Deskbook Series: Real Estate Essentials, Vols. 1 & 2, Chapter 17 "Landlord and Tenant" (5th ed. 2024).
