John (Chris) Moulder

With a focus on patent litigation, Chris represents clients in proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and district court.

Chris Moulder focuses his practice on patent litigation with an emphasis on electrical, software, and medical device technologies, and over the course of his career, he has represented some of the biggest and best-known tech companies in the world. He brings his deep and varied technical background to practice before both U.S. federal district courts and the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) in connection with inter partes review (IPR) petitions and ex parte reexaminations. He has experience assisting clients with patent application drafting, prosecution, and portfolio management across a variety of technologies.

With extensive technical experience, Chris has been awarded over 30 issued patents and published 17 technical papers. During his career of more than 15 years in the engineering field, he held a management-level position where he led the development of next-generation pacemakers, defibrillators, and heart monitors.

Chris graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School with a certificate in IP law. He has a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from The George Washington University, where his dissertation related to pain management of internal defibrillation. Chris also graduated from Georgetown University with a master's degree in physiology and biophysics, and a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
