Jonathan Gross partners with clients to assess their information and data usage practices and develop privacy and data protection programs that comply with international and domestic laws and regulations. These include the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH), and U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) regulations.
Jonathan advises legal, product, engineering, marketing, and security teams on privacy by design principles for product launches and new data usage initiatives. He also implements privacy and data protection programs, conducts data mapping and privacy impact assessments, and counsels on cross-border transfers.
Jonathan drafts consumer-facing policies and notices, including terms of service, privacy policies, and end user agreements, and counsels on technology, privacy, and data security aspects of mergers and acquisitions and capital markets matters. He has significant experience negotiating intellectual property licensing, technology, and other commercial agreements, including master services agreements, general terms and conditions, and data processing agreements.
