Uncertainty around the makeup of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and Republican Mark Christie’s role as chairman leaves ambiguity for how aggressively the commission will implement President Donald Trump’s energy policy in the next six months.
The agency could maintain a 3-2 Democrat majority for up to 18 months if no commissioners resign and they aren’t immediately replaced by a Trump pick. Christie’s term ends in June if he does not get reinstated.
