For more than 35 years, Ramsey has represented clients in intellectual property (IP) and technology-related disputes, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation and trials.
Ramsey Al-Salam’s objective is to understand his clients’ businesses and goals and to resolve any disputes in the most effective and efficient way possible. If he can achieve his clients’ goals without the time and expense of a trial, he will do so. However, if trial is necessary, he enjoys sharing his clients’ stories and conveying the technical issues that underly his cases in understandable terms.
Ramsey has successfully led litigation and trial teams in cases involving a variety of technologies. He has particularly strong experience with matters involving computer, networking, and radio frequency identification technology.
Clients praise Ramsey as a "top-notch litigator" and an "excellent lawyer" in Chambers USA, which consistently lists him in "Band One" of IP litigators. Additionally, Best Lawyers in America named him “Seattle Patent Litigator of the Year” in 2014, 2019, and 2024. Ramsey has also been teaching patent law as an adjunct professor for more than 20 years.
