Paul has over 20 years of experience and focuses his practice on emerging medical device companies, with particular experience in cardiovascular, renal neuromodulation, neurostimulation, spinal devices, and aesthetic treatments.

Paul Parker, firmwide chair of Perkins Coie's Medical Device industry sector, has represented investors and emerging companies from incubation through acquisition/IPO. In the past two years, he was involved in raising over $100 million in venture funding for emerging medical device companies and has been involved in over $1 billion in acquisitions/IPOs since 2010. Paul also has extensive experience in portfolio development and patent strategies, freedom to operate analyses and other intellectual property due diligence, patent licensing, and technology transfer.

Medtronic

Patent preparation, prosecution, counseling, strategic patent due diligence and opinions for the world's largest standalone medical device company in fields of renal denervation, heart valves and neurovascular devices.

FUJIFILM Holdings America Corporation

Patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling for Japanese multinational photography and imaging company in portable diagnostic ultrasound devices.

Ardian Inc.

Patent preparation, prosecution, and counseling for early stage medical device company developing a catheter-based treatment for diseases related to sympathetic hyperactivity, including hypertension, chronic kidney disease, metabolic syndrome and heart failure. Served as Ardian's IP counsel for several financing rounds, and Medtronic’s $800 million acquisition of Ardian in 2011.

Nevro

Patent preparation, prosecution, freedom to operate and counseling for spinal stimulation. Served as Nevro’s IP counsel for several financing rounds in 2012 and 2013 raising over $70 million.

Patent preparation, prosecution, and strategic counseling for endovascular aneurysm repair device company in its acquisition by Lombard Medical for $50.5 million in 2015.
