John Delaney works with clients at the forefront of technology. He negotiates complex information technology and business process outsourcing contracts and service-level agreements; joint venture, software, and content development agreements and licenses; and similar transactions. He also counsels on emerging technology matters such as social media, mobile apps, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, smart contracts, and blockchain.
Experienced in identifying online liability issues, John develops risk-reduction strategies involving such issues as data scraping, online marketing campaigns, user-generated content, voice platforms, and interactive products and services.
John’s media industry knowledge spans music, TV, film, and other content licensing for transmitting, streaming, or downloading through traditional distribution channels and online platforms.
His knowledge of rapidly evolving social media, social influencer, and interactive marketing law informs John’s guidance to clients. He drafts and helps implement social media policies and guidelines and advises on compliance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and Communications Decency Act safe harbors. John also helps clients with online tracking and issues in connection with corporate blogs, third-party social media platforms, and mobile applications.
